I
got my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, as a gift for my 8th birthday.
For a chap at the age of eight, it was a nice camera. But the interest
of photography didn't really take off until the late seventies when
I introduced myself to the world of SLR cameras. During the past
ten years or so, my main focus has been on black and white photography.
By developing the pictures in my own darkroom I also gained more
control over both the technical and artistic sides of the process,
giving me the freedom to create images out of my own vision.
Photography is in many aspects an evolving hobby. You need to start
from the ground and slowly move your way up, thus a manual camera
will be a good startingpoint, because It's essential to learn and
master the very basics of photography to be able to fully express
yourself with your camera.
